We were established in South Africa at the dawn of democracy in 1994 as a leader in transformation. Since then, we have grown by investing in sophisticated communication infrastructure, developing new technologies and by harnessing the talent of our diverse people to now offer services to communities across Africa and the Middle East.

[西班牙，巴塞罗那，2023年3月2日] 在2023MWC巴塞罗那期间，MTN集团和华为签署体谅备忘录（MoU），旨在加强环境、社会和管理（ESG）三个范畴的战略协作。

两边表明，该体谅备忘录与MTN集团Ambition 2025商业战略以及华为的可继续开展战略（包含TECH4ALL建议）相符。两边将一同协作致力于前进非洲数字容纳和可继续开展。

MTN集团首席可继续开展与企业事务官Nompilo Morafo表明："只要经过协作，咱们才能为非洲的前进供给抢先的数字解决计划。经过与华为这样的公司协作，咱们能够聚集专业技术和常识，终究为所有人供给更强壮的联接、数字技术训练以及更绿色、愈加可继续的解决计划。"

MTN与华为将经过多个项目为非洲有需求的人供给数字技术训练。华为DigiTruck是一个装置在卡车上的太阳能移动教室，由一个旧集装箱改装而来，装备了笔记本电脑、智能手机和4G联接。DigiTruck能够为偏僻社区的居民、白叟、赋闲的年轻人，妇女以及小孩供给免费的根底数字技术训练。华为ICT学院则聚集对大学生的ICT技术训练，如5G、云核算和人工智能。当时，1900所华为ICT学院在110个国家每年为大约15万名学生供给ICT技术训练服务。一同，MTN的技术训练学院也致力于加强数字技术训练与工作商场之间的联络，期望为数字技术的生产者、顾客和立异者供给更多的时机。未来两边将加大协作，将数字技术带到更多的乡村和偏僻地区，并新增其他的训练项目组合。

MTN与华为也将在前进偏僻地区网络覆盖方面打开协作。因为非洲很大一部分人口日子在偏僻地区和乡村，MTN集团拟定了到2025年偏僻地区网络覆盖率到达95%的战略目标。继2017年在加纳完结全球初次概念验证后，MTN和华为正在协作布置一个能为偏僻地区和乡村供给网络接入的经济型解决计划“RuralStar”，该解决计划能够战胜很多运营商在偏僻地区布置网络的传统妨碍。

除了供给数字技术训练以及偏僻地区网络覆盖外，为了支撑MTN完成其2040年前净零排放的许诺，两边还将经过布置高能效的绿色解决计划来下降ICT根底设施的碳排放量，这些根底设施包含无线接入网（RAN）站点、传输网设备、存储设备以及数据中心等。
